About the Author

Melissa Stewart is the award-winning author of more than 150 science and nature books for young readers, most recently Feathers: Not Just for Flying, a Junior Library Guild selection. While gathering information for her books, Melissa has hiked in tropical rain forests, gone on safari in Africa and swum with sea lions in the Galápagos Islands. She lives in Boston, MA.

Taia Morley has worked as a toy and game designer for several big fancy toy companies. She is also an illustrator with work appearing in books, magazines and on packaging and she even illustrated the entire surface of the St. Paul Public Library Bookmobile. She lives in Minnesota and one of the things that helps her cope with the long, cold winters are warm bakery items. She is married to a wonderful guy and they have four pretty great kids and one old brown dog.
